Congratulations to the MAKO Design + Invent team, the leading industrial design agency in North America! We just won the inaugural Exceptional Workplace Award presented by The Startup Weekly. They are an online publisher of news, insights, and awards for business builders.
It has been an incredibly difficult year for us and many other businesses due to the challenges posed by the pandemic. As a company dedicated to small businesses and startups, we understand exactly how difficult the last year was. Specifically, the necessary steps businesses took to slow the spread of COVID-19.
We’ve had to adapt and pivot to find ways to survive and grow in these uncertain times. That’s why our industrial design agency is honoured to have received this award. In times like these, it’s less about the bottom line and more about putting employees above all else.
Winning The Startup Weekly Exceptional Workplace Award
Whether it’s for our clients or employees, we try to find improvement opportunities in everything we do. It’s how we continuously improve our work environment and client experiences. This mindset comes from the top down. “At our design agency, employees leverage channels that we’ve provided to voice innovations and improvement opportunities freely,” says Kevin Mako, President and Founder of MAKO Design + Invent. “In turn, that has allowed us to grow stronger as a team despite working in a remote environment.”
This pandemic has brought to light how incredibly important it is to have a work-life balance. In fact, for many employees, it’s been an eye-opener how companies treat and define “work-life balance” so differently. If you’ve been following our blogs or social media, you know we implement a number of things to keep morale high at the leading industrial design agency MAKO Design + Invent.
While it’s nice to relax during our informal Tuesday meetings, unwind during Beer O’Clock on Fridays, or mid-month virtual games, this is just the beginning. At MAKO, we’ve only been able to introduce these great ideas because of our employees. It’s their dedication to the team and open communication with the leadership group that pushes us and makes us better.
We can’t wait to see what the future has in store.
