The number one hardware product development podcast in 2022 just hit 100 episodes! Congratulations to Kevin and the rest of the team for making each episode an incredible learning experience. Kevin first took over the podcast just starting from episode 56 last year in October. As the Founder of the pioneering product development firm tailored for startups, small manufacturers, and home inventors, he provides a fresh perspective in this niche space. Combining his decades of entrepreneurial and product development experience, he has transformed this podcast into the go-to hub for aspiring and experienced hardware product entrepreneurs, and everyone else in between.
The Road to 100 Episodes of MAKO’s Product Development Podcast
To get to 100 episodes is a huge achievement in itself.
In fact, every guest we invite to our product development podcast offers a unique and valuable story about how they invented their hardware product or launched their business. In one of the very first episodes with Kevin, he spoke with Mark Shanahan, a former VP at Staples where he shared strategies on how and when to pitch to retail stores to get products onto store shelves. One of our most popular episodes featured Tom Grey, Founder of the hit Make48 TV show. In this episode, Tom helps inventors plan and understand the licensing cycle. Specifically, understanding how far a product needs to be developed before considering talking to potential licensing partners and brands.
On the other hand, those interested in the marketing side of the business will want to listen to our episode with Toccara Karizma, President of Karizma Marketing. This episode is a behind-the-scenes look at the physiological aspect of selling directly to end-consumers. Episode 100 of our product development podcast was an especially special episode. Originally aired on November 3, we invited Donna Griffit to the show to talk about how to develop the ideal pitch deck to attract investors to your product.
A Growing Network of Industry Experts
Our podcasts growth has not gone unnoticed. This year, we were featured in Pipeline and Welp Magazine lists of top engineering and industrial design podcasts. Indeed, one of the benefits of hosting a high-growth podcast is that we get to meet some incredible people. Experts in the entrepreneurial and product development industry who help share our vision that world-class design is available to everyone. Thanks to the popularity of the Product Startup podcast, Kevin has been a part of a number of high-profile shows. Shows like JLD’s EOFire podcast! A world-renown, entrepreneurship podcast with multiple awards, 3000 episodes in the last 10 years, and drawn over 100 million listeners. Kevin also had the opportunity to host his own masterclass on The Virtual CMO Podcast on the topics of product-market fit and competitive differentiation.
And this is just the first 100 episodes. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for 2022 for MAKO’s product development podcast.
Here’s to the next 100 episodes!
