Fast Company’s Innovation By Design Awards takes place every year to honour the designers and their invention development companies that are solving the problems of today and tomorrow. The awards feature a variety of companies, start-ups, and young talent and are one of the most sought-after design awards in the industry.
With 15 categories and judges that feature renowned designers, business leaders, and more, the entries are judged on the key ingredients of innovation, like functionality and originality. For the 2018 awards, there were 2,800+ submissions, including the invention development company of the year, which had an obvious winner, the industry-leading company Google.
The Design Award Winners
Our invention development company has been taking a look at some of the winners from this year and all their inspiring, innovative designs and inventions, such as the Ministry of Supply’s voice-enabled, intelligent heated jacket, LIA Diagnostics flushable and biodegradable pregnancy test, and Microsoft’s Seeing AI talking camera app for the visually impaired. Alongside obvious design winners like Google’s Home Mini, who won in the product design category.
