The German Design Council Awards honour the best design achievements at an international level each year. Organized by the German Design Council, the awards are judged by an international judging panel of experts, boasting the prestigious reputation of the awards.
The awards directly contribute to product commercial success, and prizes are awarded to projects that truly represent pioneering contributions to the international design landscape. We are proud to announce that MAKO Design + Invent has been nominated for an award based on its work with GoFish Cam!
About GoFish Cam
GoFish Cam is a wireless underwater camera that sits on your fishing line and works with a mobile app. Anglers can capture action-packed footage, gain insight into the underwater fishing experience, and review and share awesome video content on social media.
The camera records in HD quality, has night vision and can be used up to 150M in depth. It also has built-in WiFi to easily connect with your mobile device, and it’ tough armour casing keeps it protected during all your fishing adventures.
MAKO has been excited to work with GoFish on this product development from the beginning. After GoFish launched their Kickstarter campaign back in 2015 and doubled the number of backers they were expecting, our agency knew that we had a product that was going to shake up the fishing industry.
About the German Design Council
The history of the German Design Council is closely linked with the history of design culture in Germany. With 65 years worth of history, the council has served as Germany’s leading design authority, encompassing cultural, as well as business, industrial, and economic values.
The awards were developed in 1969, with the German National Prize for Good Design being awarded for the first time, and have since grown to gain international recognition, as well as attention from leading design agencies like MAKO, as we’ve been nominated for their next awards.
The jury of judges will meet in August 2019 to review nominations, and winners will be announced in November, followed by an award ceremony and celebration in February 2020. Nominees will be judged in the following categories:
- Excellent Product Design
- Excellent Communications Design
- Excellent Architecture
