Personal transportation for small distances comes with several devices: bicycles, scooters, skateboards, and rollerblades. These are very practical for clean and flat roads, but what about other types of roads, rough surfaces? Aero-service’s new product development is a pair of electric off-road rollerblades created to work on several types of surfaces and small enough to fit into a bag.
Inventor Jacek Skopinski started his own company called Aero-service specialized “in the design, construction and repair of ultralight (metal) aircrafts”. Jacek Skopinski’s previous project EV4, a four-wheel electric scooter that tilts just as a bicycle, already caught attention last year. His creations are highly inspired by his passion for avionics and it is noticeable in the design of the Off-Road Rollerblades and the EV4. Notably in terms of the material used to build his inventions, the design and technology.
The roller blades are designed with a rubber track to allow off-road uses such as on forest tracks covered with grass and mud. The product design is equipped with a battery-powered 350 W DC motor at the back of the blades. In terms of performances, the Off-Road Rollerblades can go up to 15km/h for a distance of ca 20 km (12 miles). This already seems like plenty of time for users to enjoy a long ride in forest trails. Users can control the speed of their rollerblades through a controller held in the hand. The latter is linked by a cable to the skates.
Watch a demo of the invention in this video:
We love the idea of these all terrain electric rollerblades. In terms of specs, the pair of rollerblades weighs almost 5 kg (11 lb). The rollerblades are now available for about €1,300/US$1,400. Product development is about constantly improving products and simply making them the best product designs possible for the user. We are looking forward to seeing more of Jacek Skopinski’s inventions and the feedback of the Off-Road Rollerblades.
