Our Product Development Firm is Growing!

MAKO Design + Invent is extremely pleased to announce and welcome our newest team member, Luther Yap, Senior Industrial Designer, as our product development firm keeps on growing!

Luther joins the senior design engineering team at MAKO in the capacity of a Senior Mechanical Designer, and will oversee much of the mechanical design and engineering of physical consumer products. His background experience has seen him primarily focus on mechanical design, prototyping and materials and componentry selection. Luther was one of the first individuals in Toronto to work with SLA (stereo lithography apparatus) and SLS (selective laser sintering) technology- the technology used before the 3D extrusion printer.

The MAKO team is always on the lookout for the best professionals in their specific discipline. Luther is undoubtedly one of the strongest mechanical designers we’ve come across in our 15 year history; we are thrilled to have been able to acquire his talent to grow our team. This is a great week for MAKO, but it is also a great week for all the clients that will have yet another seasoned professional on their team when partnering with MAKO.

With his incredible background, it is no surprise Luther has always been the creative type. He started painting at a young age and knew he wanted to have a creative based profession. He thoroughly enjoys working for a product development firm and loves being an industrial designer. “Being a designer is one of the greatest jobs. It allows you to dream a bit and create things that you have never even heard of. It is also very rewarding as you are helping to bring people’s dreams to a reality”, said Luther.
