Sometimes when you look at old photographs it’s hard to remember what exactly was going on when the picture was taken. What if you could bring those photographs to life so you could relive those perfect moments? LifePrint has developed a new product design for a smartphone photo printer. These aren’t your ordinary photos, because when printed and placed behind your smartphone camera, these photos come to life on your phone screen. At MAKO, we work to produce innovative designs because we understand the importance of helping our clients go beyond the status quo and set new ground rules for their industry.
How It Works:
LifePrint is compatible with social media platforms, cameras, and smart phones as well. You can print out photos from Instagram, Vine, iPhone’s Live Photos, and GoPro Cameras. In order to view LifePrint AR Hyper Photos you must download the LifePrint app, where you can edit photos and video clips with their photo-editing suite. In the app you can also like, comment, reply and share photos with other members of your LifePrint community. You can send your photos to your family and friends’ printers from anywhere in the world as long as they have the LifePrint app. Users will know they have printed a Hyper Photo when they see a watermark on the right hand corner of the photo, but they have the option to remove it. It’s a new way to share memories without the challenges of mailing photographs or sending digital copies.
Sleek Product Design:
The printer itself is a small portable device with a sleek white product design that can easily fit into your pockets. It requires no wires to be attached to your device as it runs on Bluetooth technology. This is the first time you can print GoPro photos, and iPhone Live Photos with easy to use tools from the LifePrint app. The LifePrint uses Zink paper as the film, so you will never need to refill the ink, but you will need to replace the film.
LifePrint has great potential to be a disruptive product design, hitting various industries such as photography and social media. With 34 days left they have already raised a whopping $114,043 which is 380% over their original goal. MAKO is always inspired by innovations that are transforming their industry by creatively winning the market’s interest. We look forward to seeing LifePrint on the market!
